
SALVATION ARMY CITADEL
The Stowmarket Corps of the Salvation Army was formed on the 26th February 1886. The first building was a factory in Union Street, later moving to Tavern Street.

In 1911 the Corps moved to new premises in Milton Road. Large
meetings were held at the Corn Hall.

In 1966 there was another move to
Violet Hill Road.

The present day
Citadel in Violet Hill Road opened in February 1995, plans are now
in hand for a major refurbishment.
