SALVATION ARMY CITADEL

The Stowmarket  Corps of the Salvation Army was formed on the 26th February 1886. The first building was a factory in Union Street, later moving to Tavern Street.

In 1911 the Corps moved to new premises in Milton Road. Large meetings were held at the Corn Hall.

In 1966 there was another move to Violet Hill Road.

The present day Citadel in Violet Hill Road opened in February 1995,  plans are now in hand for a major refurbishment.
