A personal account of the village of Combs over some three hundred
years and how the life of the village was influenced by the Tannery and
the families who owned it and worked in it. A real contribution to the
social history of Suffolk. Of great local interest for anyone with Combs
connections, the author has changed all place and personal names but with
some local knowledge it is possible to work out the many of the original names.
